truth be told a lot of this new garbage wouldn't even scrape plaque if it wasn't for streaming lmao

  • So many good artists can't afford to be musicians rn bc of streaming. If you produce like 10 million streams over 3 months you get like 20 dollars. Now that underground artists can't tour they're absolutely f***ed. Started buying some of my favs on Bandcamp to support artists that I want to be able to continue on

Imagine driving to a record store, getting your release day copy of your most anticipated album then you get home, turn it on and realize you did all that for so much fun or high off life

  • Crazy how this site is like 90 percent pseudosocialist idealogues that cap for a fundamentally anti-artist enterprise

before streaming and internet you would HAVE to get signed. Otherwise there would be no career. Your music would have never reached the people.

Now there is 1000 times more unique and interesting music out there because there is more music available.

Many bands that are underground make obscure stuff would never exist. Internet and streaming made is possible for the weirdest artists out there to live off their art.

Obviously there is industry bs but I cant see anything bad about more talented artists getting successful and the people can listen for 15 $ a month. Looking at the big picture streaming is one of the best things that could have happened to music.

Streaming made it easier to find good music tho

Not really. Makes the market more saturated and more flooded with absolute garbage. Harder to find good music imo
