I hate "surprise albums" releases. Should give us a single first, a video, give us an idea what the album is going to sound like...then release it.

Kendrick singles never sound like the bulk of the album

Your kidding right? I remember when he released I, we could tell what type of album he's gonna release.
Also with Humble.
I'm just saying, it builds hype. These surprise releases feel underwhelming imo

Big brain over here watch out
I can only imagine how many songs Kendrick recorded for this new album over the years. He probably has 3-4 albums worth of material.

Nah bruh lol. Kendrick singles are almost never the sound of the entire album itself. Which is why his songs grow on alot of ppl when they listen to the album

Did anyone actually listen to and possibly spoil six album songs by listening to one-minute snippets? I listened to ten seconds of the first snippet and dipped
They definitely gave us a feel of the overall sound.

Agreed. They’re cool w some ppl, but Kendrick can really build some hype imo
I remember people comparing ‘i’ to Pharrell’s Happy tune saying he was going pop, no joke. Theres a reason it didnt chart that well for his sophomore comeback. Underrated single imo aswell. People couldn’t differentiate pop to classic Funk
