I’m gonna be honest
Everybody who posted the “critics say this is the best episode yet” theory kinda ruined this episode for me
It was good but it wasn’t great, Barry was much better this week
I love Barry way more than this show & feel somewhat the opposite of this

Not having watched a single episode of Barry (intend to watch once Succession ends) so I don’t have to compare the two
Maybe I just don’t understand the system well enough, but I don’t get what ATN calling the election early really does for anyone? Or at the very least, how it serves Kendall and Roman’s interests? I get how it might benefit Mencken because it makes the election seem dubious, giving him a better narrative when he loses. But if he’s not actually president, how does any of this help Kendall and Roman? He can’t stop the GoJo deal, so why would the two of them even want to put their necks out for him?
It's just short-sighted decision making from 2 idiots that want to be just like their father.
It was live posting
Your post had a real “Moments before disaster” quality to it
Also is calling it even that big of a deal? To my knowledge it looked like he was winning even with the burned votes. Like it’s not that weird that a conservative tv channel is gonna call the election if it definitely looks like he was winning. Like I don’t see how this would have huge repercussions for them, maybe some legal but not in audience credibility.
Wisconsin always looks like a GOP victory until you count Milwaukee which is a major city dominated by democrats. Both of the last Presidential races in that state were decided by ~20k votes
Just look at the map and numbers for 2020. You’d think this was a Trump win initially right? : en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election_in_Wisconsin
It’s extremely likely the state would turn blue if they had those compromised votes. Not even Fox News polling would have called what Roman did.
Not only were they Milwaukee votes, they were also absentees. Both of these would heavily favor Dems. Roman didn’t wanna hear what they dude knew about his Wisconsin guess for a reason

Because at this stage the media pretty much calls the result, there’s no going back from it. To the public opinion he has won. Imagine if the 3 month count was to reverse the results, it won’t happen. Since he’s considered the next president he already holds all the power.

I wouldn't say it ruined the episode for me, but I was definitely waiting for the other shoe to drop in a way that I normally wouldn't have been. I don't mind having an episode without huge plot twists or sudden events, but I do mind when I'm watching the whole ep expecting those things to happen and they never do
The con heads are definitely gonna storm the capitol
Connor’s speech killed me i love that man
This episode was a wild roller coaster ride. Still thinking about it the next morning.
Imo this is up there with the best GOT ep's and stuff

Every episode clears GOT and I've never seen GOT

Early GOT was special blood. Frank Ocean was freaking out on twitter about the Red Wedding and s***
What really makes this episode hit you in the ball sack is when you realize the next election will be worse than 2020 and worse than this and this s*** is happening IRL with Tucker being fired, Elon buying twitter etc
