One thing that irks me is how the “nuclear family” isn’t taken seriously in black communities it’s weird af that we’ve indirectly normalized having multiple baby mamas & abandoning children like that isn’t the main root of a lot of issues in black neighborhoods

I know we hate her but Candace Owens mentioned how government aid pushed forward by Lyndon B Johnson in the early 60s purposely/strategically targeted black homes to encourage black mothers living in poverty to raise children without their fathers to receive federal aid

A lot of men that lose their lives prematurely, contribute to gang violence, d*** distribution, & end up in prisons all have one thing in common... single parent households

If we want to stop the cycle of damaged neighborhoods, black men, women & children we need more nuclear families

    I disagree

I get the premise, but feel like it indirectly paints non-traditional families in a negative light

We should encourage parents to be able to co-exist and be in their children's lives, I can agree with that

Also don't agree with Candace's premise that nuclear families will cure problems in the Black community because it ignores the main culprit which is systemic racism

I dont get the correlation. Just cause yo daddy and grand daddy were deadbeats dont mean you not dumb for getting pregnant by a nigga you already know is a deadbeat

Always thought this tbh. Felt like the government rather have black households be absent of a strong father figure and this basically made it harder for black woman cause they had to fill both roles.

Which isn’t even possible because no woman can be protector, provider & nurturer all at once

How are you suppose to take care of your child or children when you have to go to work to keep the lights on ?

That’s also the main reason why black men feel the need to seek validation from street gangs, d*** dealers & criminals because there isn’t enough at home

    Kanye's impact

  • She’s a weird b**** but most of the rappers we idolize fit the description but she should hold herself accountable for willingly letting a known deadbeat impregnate her

And that goes for every other woman who see red flags and still allow themselves to become a “baby mama” statistic

Also how many black men in this thread had an absent father, raise your hand

Both parties (man and woman) should hold themselves accountable for the cycle

You said that being upset by this is mental weakness

So by YOUR OWN WORDS being upset at black men being demeaned and generalized is a sign of mental weakness

So then i said "Are black ppl mentally weak for being offended at the N word" which is used to demean and generalize black people and then you said "Theyre not comparable" like nigga what

So being upset at being generalized is weakness but being upset at the N word isnt? Your whole argument is hypocritical asf

Co parenting or traditional family, I point was the tradition of both parents being active in a child’s life is a something the average African American child doesn’t have the pleasure of experiencing, we need more of that

And that’s literally what I said lol

There’s plenty of good black men out there, but a lot of good black men get overshadowed because they’re not “thug” or “street” enough and women would rather get knocked up by the bum who leaves them with a kid

Reducing these problems in the black community to being solved by just having both parents in the house is truly a cop out answer. It's an outright refusal to acknowledge systemic societal issues that lead to both women and men making terrible decisions that have long term harmful effects.

@Cookies u a cool dude but u be giving me coon vibes which i hope isnt the case with u :/

  • We idolize rappers who treat hoes like hoes and praise their toxicity, and shame hoes for rejecting them or moving on

Then blame hoes for not choosing better when they ruin their lives by becoming a single parent
Then hate hoes when they marry Russel Wilson and hurt our goats feelings

  • Nov 28, 2020

Not just that but African Americans were denied basic education & various “privileges” in America

Also you have the KKK destroying thriving black owned businesses & commuting genocidal acts within black communities which could’ve created generational wealth

I’m planning on making a thread soon but I’m still doing my research so I’m not misinformed lol
