    At some point musicians have to have an honest conversation with themselves about what is the mf endgame with this industry at the current moment.

    If everywhere you put out gets scraped by data to get played by a 60 year old's grandpa's honda civic under an unrecognizable AI artist, gotta ask yourself "wtf are we doing rn"

    -positive cause op of said statement came to peace with this era being the end stage of music yearsss ago.

    It’s a tool, but the wrong hands and companies are using these things.

    I really like how the Vocaloid community are actually handling the tech.

    I do believe Vocal Synthesizers are actually going to be the Auto-Tune of 2030s.

    I'm being facetious but I think like any tool it has the potential for good and bad applications.

    I haven't seen any of the Vocaloid stuff you mention, but most of what I've seen of AI in music has been about creating shortcuts, rather than enhancing the creative process, so I'm doubtful of the "good" applications.

    It is crazy that piracy has been such a problem in the industry for the last 20+ years but now that they've created their very good plagiarism machine that sustains itself on piracy it's suddenly not a big deal
