admittedly I kind of enjoy the first movie but all the casual racism keeps it from being really good

    don't want a sequel tho

I always thought it was sort of anti-racist cause Kip and Lafawnduh is the sort of thing where a lesser film would just be punching down on the characters and laughing at them but Napoleon Dynamite subverts that. They accept and love each other. There's such a sweetness to the film. I understand if you wanna call it racist tho.

It just feels like a moot point to even address that for cool internet points because

    1. It's a comedy
    2. Its set in 2004
    3. Its set in the super boonies/suburbs/small town Idaho
    4. None of anything that could be considered racism is portrayed as "correct" or "right" in the scheme of the film.

Kip meeting a woman online, loving her despite some cultural differences and accepting those at a moment's notice without so much as an onscreen argument being racist is mind boggling honestly, it's the complete opposite of that. It's pure acceptance and love

Now if you wanna talk about nacho libre, that would make a tad bit more sense.

why is it "cool internet points" to say I don't like racism in the movies I watch

yall are cooked on here tbh. brain addicted to irony and the like button. I even said I enjoyed the movie so get off my nuts. this is a discussion forum. if you can't handle opinions and need constant validation go to social media.

But you wanted constant validation you're right, this is a discussion forum. We're discussing it. Lots of jumping to conclusions
