First episode was great, already care about a lot of different players . Very diverse cast. Their playing fast.

I highly recommend seasons 6-8 of Survivor:SA to anyone in here who hasn't watched them yet. The way they edit the winners is better than in US imo and each season has one player that's Boston Rob/Ozzy/Earl tier in terms of how great they are at the game

Stopped watching when one of the players was talking about how his husband is pregnant and transgender and felt uncomfortable with the word “guys”

Why tf would they make some of these changes We don't need these weird backstory edits for the players (the footage they used for Naseer was lowkey some racist s***) or Jeff addressing the camera explaining everything that's happening before the players come in for a challenge

This was a great cast but they were wasted on this season. They need to tone down the twists and advantages, go back to a more traditional Survivor experience. Its okay to surprise the viewers but when they change the rules to the game fundamentally and catch the players off guard too, it's just unfair. Ben's win doesn't get respect because he was saved by the fire making twist that was just dropped on the players. It would've been fine if the players were informed on Day 1, but to spring that on them when it's too late for the players to adjust their strategy just seems hella unfair. That hourglass twist is in a similar vein. People who lose an immunity challenge shouldn't be granted immunity. That's how its always worked. That was some extremely wack s*** And they need to go back to 39 days, never ever do one of these compact seasons again

Anyway, any fans of Survivor please do yourselves a favor and watch Survivor South Africa seasons 6-8. Deadass better than anything we've gotten from US Survivor over the past few years and the way they edit the winner is far better
