And he did actually try to end the democratic transfer of power when he lost the election. There was a coup attempt at the Capitol. A person died. The windows were broken into and they screamed to hang the vice president of the united states. If Capitol police didn't intentionally lead the insurrectionists away from congress it would've actually been brutal.
