I only ever listened to their early stuff, up until about Holy Money, I guess? This song’s cool; it sounds like Lou Reed or something, so I get why some of their fans might not dig it. Not as heavy as the early stuff, more normal and less epic than the newer stuff. It also kind of sounds like that band Death in June.
I kind of stopped listening to them after reading about the whole Larkin Grimm thing, though 😬 Puts Gira up there with Marilyn Manson for me (whom I never liked anyway but still), where I don’t need sexually transgressive art from someone who’s out there actually sexually transgressing.

I don't know what happened, but I'll suggest you to read this

Yikes. I mean, I hope it didn’t happen and that she is lying, but him flip-flopping on his story was weird, calling her a liar but then kind of corroborating what she’d said, only taking care to frame it as an “awkward mistake” and not what it sounds like it was, which is a man who always had a thing for a woman attempting to take advantage of her while intoxicated. Only the two of them know what really happened, but if it quacks like a duck.... Like I said, though, I wasn’t the biggest fan to begin with. My favorite songs of theirs are “Weakling”, “Red Sheets” and the Public Castration version of “A Screw”.

I listened to it the other day, thought it was cool

Still gotta go back and check out the older stuff, I’ve really only heard the 2010s albums.

Ill give it another spin, I didn't hate it but something was missing for me.

And yea definitely peep their older stuff, could you imagine seeing a double header with them and Sonic Youth back in the day

    That would be insane tbh.
I was listening to Daydream yesterday, those sonic youth riffs would be incredible live.

Not to turn this into a SY thread but have you heard this live joint, clearly has a Swans influence with intensity. Good s***

Wait to you hear the Jarboe effect on Swans music too

A lot of Gira's early lyrics are masculine and emasculating at the same time
