To Be Kind is my favorite by them, The Seer is incredible too, haven’t heard The Glowing Man yet but I’m planning on listening soon
the glowing man is phenomenal, its the most transcendent and spiritual feeling out of all of the trilogy imo
whole trilogy feels like youre searching for God and TGM feels like finding it
their last album was definitely a decent transitional record. hopefully this time around we can get something more defined and unique
This is now their official avi on YouTube lmao
LOL we might need this in the OP
got these in a cd lot…all the post-reunion albums are signed
Holy s*** is that Look At Me Go
i’m thinking of listening and ranking these albums once i’m done…it’s been a long time since i’ve heard a Swans record from front to back
Holy s*** is that Look At Me Go
yes it is the 2nd disc on my father will guide me
Just played The Glowing Man in full for the first time in years, I never really liked it much, I'd give it a 7/10 at most but something felt off, and the live versions of tracks on The Gate were so much better, never got the hype and saw Leaving Meaning as a return to form
MAN was I wrong, this album is amazing, a perfect end to the trilogy, it's like The Seer is cerebral, To Be Kind is physical, and The Glowing Man is spiritual, transcending the body, when you listen to it with this kind of formlessness in mind it all makes sense, absolutely incredible stuff (The Gate's version of Frankie M. still might be the best song ever though)

Amazing collection dude, Look at Me Go and Children of God on CD is crazy
In terms of notable Swans Swag I've got signed copies of The Body Lovers/The Body Haters (signed in-person by Gira, he was terrifying), How I Loved You, The Gate, and a cassette copy of Love of Life that I randomly found on eBay

I'm talking like a low 7, often a 6, I just never felt satisfied with it in the same way that the other modern Swans albums worked for me, which contain some of the best music I've ever heard, but now it's like oh yeah, this is absolutely one of those albums
Out of 10, I'd say the trilogy goes 9 - 10 - 9, and that's pretty damn good

i feel that.
for me, it’s hard to even try and make sense of or rate Swans albums. like every time i listen to one i’m just kinda in awe, trying to take it all in as much as possible. outside of like Children of God and Soundtracks for the Blind, cuz those actually work well as traditional albums

9-10-9 is correct. Insane sequence of releases.
