Jan 31, 2023·editedAll I’ll say is black folks are hyper critical of their own. Win too much and niggas gonna find reasons to hate. Especially Twitter they already starting to turn on GloRilla on there. Even the criticism of You People is so hypercritical. I don’t think it was some genre defining movie, but it was decent enough that it made me laugh while watching it high. Now you got people doing deep dives on Lauren London wearing Ankhs in the movie.
There are plenty valid criticisms but a lot of these “black” movies n tv shows do not need to be 1:1 authentic to living the “black experience”. Like the way I see some people talk about BMF, like bruh s*** has been embellished for TV obviously, and even then, overwhelming majority of black people are not, and will never actually relate to Meech’s lifestyle
