damn, UK loves SHM and Abel
There are some weird choices for his adlibs/vocalizing throughout the track, like in the first seconds, etc. Really like the chorus though.
And I don't know if the other parts are weak, or if that how the song structure can be, with the verses building up to the chorus, I don't know 🤔

Bro shut the f*** up and just listen to music normally like a normal goddamn human being
“Working with Abel (Tesfaye) is one of the proudest moments of my life,” says Ingrosso. “It was a dream, and the fact we were all together in the studio, rather than sending each other beats via email, was mind-blowing. His voice and his way of writing music is incredible, and sonically we knew when our dark, melodic side met his, something interesting would happen.”

The fact that you got that as the cover invalidated your opinion

I just don't think the official one they lazily picked is better lmao

that's the issue, I'm looking for replay value, unfortunately I don't think there's much of it lol

You are not looking for replay value you’re literally digging into the fundamentals of a song instead of just trying to listen to it as a piece of music and enjoy it.
Talking bout some “weird choices for his vocalizing” and “song structure”
This isn’t music class it’s a new Weeknd and SHM song that doesn’t have to be dissected like you’re some kind of artistic scientist
Just listen to the f***ing music for what it is at face value, no reason to get all weird about it.

Why are you being an a******? This is a music forum. We’re here to discuss music in a way that is more detailed than the average person. That’s why we’re here. If you don’t understand what he’s talking about/don’t care for it, just ignore it. You’re giving off some strong “shut up and dribble” vibes with these posts. Why are you trying to stifle discussion because YOU don’t like it? It’s not hurting you at all, and there are plenty of “songs good” posts ITT. You need to relax.

Hani is constantly on some trying to be different & extra, unnecessary s***.
He doesn’t like the song that’s cool but music is art and art for a reason.
S*** is suppose to make you feel something, supposed to sound good, touch you or even inspire you
There’s no reason you should be listening to music and nitpicking every tiny detail trying to fully break down every aspect of it and then get on here calling it bad because it has “weird vocalizing” and the song structure isn’t good like you’re some kind of music spokesperson.. give me a break
it’s not hard to just listen to music and not a***yze it like it’s some sort of test, you just sound like a jackass trying to hard to find something wrong with a song and he’s ALWAYS doing s*** like this, it’s annoying
Call me an a****** idc? He’s just as obnoxious as f***ing Thrice

This is lame. These aren’t random, super obscure critiques and even if they were if they are things that bother him about the song it’s valid for him to complain.
People complained a LOT (rightfully so) about his song structure on BBTM and Starboy. Every song was the exact same formula and it got really boring. Especially compared to what he’d do on trilogy in songs line TP&TAP, Gone, XO/The Host, etc.
Go to any drake album thread in the last 5 years and you’ll have a million comments on drakes voice/delivery. It became such a narrative even Joe Budden ran with it on his podcast. You’ll also hear people complain about Kendrick and his weird deliveries sometimes. Big Sean dissed him for it in No More Interviews.
So don’t act like these are unreasonable complaints (even though I don’t agree with them either). People do wayyyy more nitpicking on here about fidelity and mixing or things they literally can’t even describe.
If you like the song great, if you explain why maybe he’ll notice something he didn’t before. If you don’t like the song, that’s fine, same thing applies.
People like or dislike music for all kinds of reasons.
"The latter is a collaboration with pop superstar The Weeknd, with whom Swedish House Mafia now share a manager. But getting him involved wasn't as straightforward as you'd expect, says Ingrosso.
"When we were coming up with people we wanted to work with, the first name we wrote down was Abel, aka The Weeknd. We love his dark side, his voice, his mind-set, everything.
"When we said that to our management, we thought it was going to be an obvious thing: 'Yeah, just bring The Weeknd into the studio tomorrow, right?' But they said 'It doesn't work like that. You guys need to sit down and meet.'
"He wanted to see our vision, our ideas, to hear the whole album. And so we flew to LA and had two days just hanging out, drinking, having fun - and then we went into the studio.
"It was a genuine way and that's always the best way, you know?"
