theres actually studies that suggest perfect pitch and synesthesia are correlated and often overlap! could be another reason why it seems so much more prevalent in musicians

really interesting - they say they have taste-sound synesthesia too so they hear sounds when they taste things
obviously cant speak to its legitimacy but its an interesting read

yea lol that was the part that got me as well
its definitely theoretically possible - sound and visual is just the common one any two senses can collide and most people w one type have another type as well
but I feel like the likelihood of that must be so so small

its definitely a real condition but
we really dont know if its common (5% of all people) or incredibly rare (0.01%)that being said it definitely should be overrepresented in the population of famous artists so im sure some of them have it
are some of them faking it? almost definitely but we'd have no way of knowing. the one way you could check is by looking at how an artist has described the colors of certain sounds over time and if the colors they use to describe a specific sound change over time they are likely faking it since its highly unusual for the associated color to change
i feel like certain ppl cap about it to seem cool. but i guess we'll never know who's who

I may have synesthesia. This is very interesting. I've never heard of it before and to think I might have it is so weird.
I definitely put colors together with sound, maybe not as strong as other but it's there. I got a 88 on the test. @safe does that mean I have it, kinda have it?
I noticed easily what colors went with what sounds, but I didn't have it at all for numbers or letters. Just sounds and months.
