Everything Bioshock did in 2007, System Shock did better in `94 One of the most influential games of all time. Definitely check this game out if you're a fan of bioshock/prey/dead space and immersive sim type games!

Not a fan of the whole remake movement but this is actually something I've always wanted to play I hope the first Deus Ex gets a remake too

Remakes are great when its for a game that actually needs it - either really out of date, locked on a system or didnt sell well originally thus mostly unknown.

This is def one of them. Hope we get more remakes of games that actually deserve it like this & Demons Souls.

I love bioshock so I have to give this a play

Its the predecessor to that series and ait led the path/influenced lot of games similar to it like Deus Ex, Half Life and Dishonered etc. Its a very seminal and highly influential legendary game. Ive been wanting to play it forever.

Just dont expect it to be heavy story focused - its mostly focused on its gameplay and atmosphere. Its still very much a very old game in that regard, but there is a general story and intro cutscenes plus enviromental storytelling. Its just not gigantic or grand outside of you being a fugitive and a rogue ai trying to stop you from shutting it down and stopping it from going to Earth.

It was the first fps kind of game to not follow Doom's footsteps too, iirc the og came out 2 years after doom 1

First game with discovered Audio Logs telling a large part of the story

in fact you could argue Soulsbourne story telling was also influenced by this indirectly using in game items to tell a story isn't that different from finding audio logs. Not to mention this game had a goated villain too and they brought back the original voice actor

Idk what Grim Fandango gameplay is like, but that's another hailed classic I would probably like to play

The AI is so iconic and ss literally why the audio logs and in game paper lore exists its so crazy how diff they went and pulled it off

Managed to have a way to tell a story when it wasnt really a thing outside of rpgs & had the balls to go more slower and make it strategic based

The AI lady really steals the show she is great and how she dynamically reacts to what youre doing amd she preps ahead of time once getting used to your playstyle

Its a point and click game but its unique even for the genre epsecially at the time where you also control a full character in like old school resodent evil kind of way with the viewing angles.

I played it early ps4 days on ps+ there is a good remaster for it.

Its hard byt the writing, story and characters are so damn good.
