I emailed a suggestion about mentions a month or 2 ago. Not sure if you saw it.

Well for the bookclub id like to be able to tag all the users involved at one time, so we can promote more discussion. Kinda like a reminder. It’s also an easier way for me to get their attention for stuff, like when we’re gonna cycle through another book, or trying to vote for a new book, etc

We're having a feature to notify all thread followers, much easier. Sorry that it's limiting for now. It's to prevent spam.
