Nah I agree with him. You can't box in Maori people with those other minorities, their experience is way more comparable with Native Americans, Indigenous Australians and all first nation people who continue to face way more problems than those other minorities. Definitely wouldn't say they dance around for white approval, even though their skin is brown their struggle is similar to African Americans in their homeland
