Will never get the 305 to my City hate tbh
The beat is crazy on that one, def the most abstract on drakes discography
NWTS easily. Going to catch a lot of flack from y’all but I f***ing hate Take Care.
Its aight, what do you dislike about it ?
Its aight, what do you dislike about it ?
Too simpy/ too much singing (not a fan of most of Drake's singing tracks, some are cool however, a majority of them are pretty ehh..)
Too much 40 production, not enough Boi1da or T-Minus
Only really enjoyed one song of the album & still to this day only like this track (The Motto)
Production did not age well
Drake to me is at his best when he's rapping over bangers, that's why I like NWTS more. When I first heard SFTB back in 2013, that's we he won me over as a fan. The beat was aggressive, Drake had more bravado in his voice, flow was tighter, etc. NWTS was the beginning of this nigga leveling up. Production was better, the singing/ R&B joints (HOWGH & Come Thru) were better than the ones on Take Care. Hell, you could even see the Cloud Rap (mainly Lil B & A$AP Rocky) influence on several tracks (Tuscan Leather, Pound Cake, first half of Furthest Thing, etc). The album doesn't sound dated like how Take Care does to me.
NWTS is Drake’s best album and 40s best album. It his most vulnerable, concise, confident, and intentional work. It fully blends rap and RnB to the point where they are synonymous. It may end up being his magnum opus.
Really wish drake sung & rapped on the same track like he did during these times
Nowadays he seems to separate the two
Take Care has higher highs better songs and songwriting
it also has lower lows imo
NWTS. Drake said if himself.
/end thread
Just because Drake says it doesn't mean the majority thinks the same
Most people view Take Care as the superior album and Drake's Magnum Opus
I think it's no coincidence that Take Care sits @ 78 on the Billboard 200, more than 8 YEARS after it's initial release
NWTS is Drake’s best album but Take Care will never be replaced as my favorite Drake album. It was the era that made me a stan, the soundtrack to my young adult life, and the album the pushed Drake to the forefront of rap.
it's a testament to the impact and longevity of that album
Nothing but the truth whole truth so help you God
take care easily
