Their beef with Brand New >>> funny how Jesse Lacey of brand new started TBS with another guy and they both left to start new bands (the other guy made The Movielife, then once TBS dropped their debut a couple guys left to form Straylight Run. None of the original founders of taking back Sunday appeared on their albums

Yeah i used to remember all the details when i was younger but now i cant even remember which person started the whole feud. Im sure its easy to look up and read about tho. IIRC is started by one person sleeping with the other guy's girlfriend while they were best friends.
In "Seventy Times 7", the bridge goes:
Is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
So let's end this call and end this conversation
And is that what you call a getaway
Tell me what you got away with
Cause you left the frays from the ties you severed
When you say "best friends" means friends forever
And then TBS' response in "There's No 'I' in Team", the bridge goes:
Is this what you call tact?
I swear you're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
So let's end this call
And end this conversation
There's nothing worse... (that's right he said, that's right he said it)
I swear, you have no idea
The jealousy that became got me thinking (that's right he said)
That you always had it way too easy

this the emo ether/takeover
man old
Brand new so good
band of the century
love u dawg
band of the century
You woke up with a peaceful feeling
You'd had a prophetic dream
You had the answer to your greatest question
But you didn't write it down before you fell back asleep.
Now it's gone and you won't get it back
God doesn't give a s*** who you marry
But they were the one if She did
You thought love was something somebody owed you
and it didn't take them long to figure out you got nothing to give
Now they're gone and you won't get them back
They were the greatest band in a century
Lyrics tattooed on your wrist
They were gonna stay together forever
but they couldn't keep up with the kids, and so they called it quits
Now they're gone and you won't get them back.

Lol yeah im pretty sure a lot of the songs on that TBS album are about the beef, lots of lyrics about backstabbing and cheating partners. Even the album title "Tell All Your Friends" is probably a snub at Jesse Lacey.
Funny cause i feel like its really rare for beefs between bands to come out in song, especially at that time in that genre. Which is odd because that era of pop-punk had some of the most drama queen ass people in it lol
The only other pop-punk/emo feud i can think of off top is Gerard Way from MCR and Bert McCracken (lead singer of The Used), who became really close friends after playing a show together. But then Gerard Way distanced himself from Bert because he was heavy into d**** and alcohol, and Gerard wasn't into all that. IIRC The Used had a couple songs that took subtle shots at MCR afterwards, but thats it. (Rumors at the time were that Bert wanted to be more than friends and Gerard didn't feel the same way, but that was never confirmed.)

This song is a response to Brand New and their lead vocalist Jesse Lacey. Lacey was childhood best friends with John Nolan, Taking Back Sunday’s guitarist and co-vocalist.
Their friendship was promptly dynamited when Nolan made a move on the girl both Lacey and him had a crush on, inadvertently provoking a shouting match which degenerated into Nolan punching Lacey in the face.
Following this, Lacey and Brand New wrote “Seventy Times Seven”, a dis song about Nolan, which sparked Taking Back Sunday to retaliate. “There’s No I In Team” is John’s response to the attack and his occasion to give his side of the story.
The two bands did eventually make up one year after the feud started, taking off on a tour together in the summer of 2002, during which Lacey routinely came onstage to take part in “There’s No ‘I’ In Team”.
This actually blows my mind cause I never had any clue they made up, especially THAT soon. Kinda nice to hear that after all these years.
Here's a vid of TBS performing the song on 2002 where Jesse Lacey joins them on stage and they do a mashup of it and "Seventy Times 7"
First three albums are heaters and their debut is the crown jewel from that scene. One of my all time favorites
