so the last i understood, someone was shopping around a leak of an older version of this album. so apparently there's a version from a few years ago that was ready to go, and now there's this new version.

idk what's going to happen to this album. seems like yasiin is still skeptical of just putting it to streaming or conventionally releasing it, then there's the lawyers thing from a while back, and then the samples thing i saw some place, and idk what's what in terms of the hold on it.

but idk what happens with this album. seems like its just sitting there at this point.

i'm just wondering what their motivation is. if this album comes out, it's not like they're gonna do crazy numbers but then again i might be underestimating the popularity of Black Star

Right? I agree. The people who want it are going to support it to the max if it’s streamed but it’s going to be just those people who want it regardless of how it’s released you know? Hope it’s not an exclusivity thing like “Negus” project.

Its less about black star and more about underground/alternative hip hop eating this up. The amount of publicity and promo they can do for this is pretty huge
