No way they’re getting themselves into anything

They literally just got what they wanted, they’re not gonna risk it all for Tajikistan 😂

Someone brought up Russia, I see Putin putting his hands in mix and trying to broker peace between Taliban and surrounding territories between the countries.

The Taliban aren’t dumb, they aren’t gonna force western invasion again by overplaying their success. They’ll want to maintain what they have now and solidify domestic support in cities.

Seeing the modernist approach (for political/economic gains) the Saudis have taken recently (who first exported extremist fundamentalism to Afghans) — I genuinely think the Taliban mean it when they talk about compromises on certain rights for citizens

I bet the Saudis have communicated to the Taliban already that if they’ll enjoy more support from themif they conform to what Saudi is doing; UAE probably has done the same.

That might also play into why the US agreed to pull out now because they had reassurance from the Gulf countries of the Taliban’s cooperation. American politics though will never allow anyone in office to come out and say we’re collaborating with Saudi Arabia with supporting a Taliban government; American citizens aren’t ready to hear that.

Yeah not sure what that means but if people of a religion choose to have a non western form of state rulership then it doesn’t make it terrorist

If you were a true consistent moralist the millions of innocent lives lost at the hands of capitalist and colonist countries is far more terrorist

It means transfers of all political and religious authority to the clergy and makes all of the state’s key decisions subject to approval by a supreme clerical leader, the "Amir Al Momeniin" in Taliban's case.

Christians used to believe in the same system centuries ago but now western entities use this age old f***ed up system to unleash terror in middle east. I kid you not CIA and MI6 had infiltrated radical islamic Qutbist groups since the beginning and more than ever now.

Most terrorism groups are armed and funded by the West yes...

that's why i find it difficult to comprehend who's to blame from your op

So USA did it again ... Recent events parallel 1979 Khomeini take over

USA and Ashraf left Taliban with a whole lotta gear. Just like the position Mullahs were in 1979. Next logical move is to orchestrate a war so that they use em up and buy some more. Just like how they did with the Iran Iraq war that occured shortly after.

It is going to be a neighbouring country and sadly I Think it is going to be Tajikistan for the following reasons:

    • Taliban wants to export and spread their islamic ways, Tajikistan has a secular government and theyve been doing good lately distancing a bit from religion, educating people and dropping their poverty rate.

    • Both persian speaking countries, easy transition of power.

    • Islamists and Qubtists hate Iranian culture, persian language and traditions, they like to live like Muhammad lived 1400 years ago and hold Arabic values and language higher. Tajikis in recent years have been celebrating their iranian roots more than ever naming roads and parks after persian scholars and erecting statues of persian poets.... and this does not sit well with Taliban.

I hope I'm wrong. It is sad to see one of the oldest cultures on the planet get destroyed.

    Where oil enters on it?

    Where oil enters on it?

    Great question.

This is all oil companies doing. They've been doing this s*** since the discovery of oil in the region.

They want idiot governments that are more worried about devil worshippers than actual problems in charge in these regions

They dont want countries like Iran to develop. Iran cant even produce enough petrol for its own people let alone export it. Oil companies much rather steal your crude oil and sell you back water bottles.

Literally any country bordering the Taliban would dust them (minus the immediate North central Asian ones, alone). The thing is, the bordering countries are the ones that helped create THEM in the first place.

I think the Taliban feels like it’s been blessed. Like, they’re not gonna test the waters. It’ll be interesting to see what their foreign policy looks like but for now I bet they try to play nice for a little while. Anything too egregious would jeopardize their successes and they realize that

It’s easy to see them as animals but we should be careful because The West had certainly underestimated them before.

and yeah they’re terrible and we’d all like them gone but their takeover does provide stability, which should be considered

There is no stability in a country in which morons get all the management positions. Doomed to failure and hardship for people. Nothing stable about living there... trust me i've lived it.
