I don’t really get the hype for this… I’m an episode behind but I don’t particularly like any of the performances I’ve been watching. Mark Ruffalo is kinda hamming it up to me, Is he in a fat suit? Cause
Then the South African shorty’s accent keeps slipping out which is kinda irritating. She’s otherwise a pretty good actress but she needs to work on her American accent still.
Buddy from Ozark who is pretty much the same character without schizophrenia isn’t really doing much for me in this. His performance is kinda wooden.
The overall plot isn’t anything special either, now that I think about it wasn’t that apple tv show with Brian Tyreek Henry (Atlanta) about robbing d*** dealers?
Robbie
Tom once again made me FEEL in the scene with him and Jayson
Then the bait and switch
Satisfying ending although
One f***ing EP left
I don't want it to end yet 😭😞

Yes he’s in a fat suit
I jus had this moment of remembering im an adult by thinking I wouldn’t of liked this show as a kid
1 cool thing of being older 🤓 or sad 🤓
I’ve been investing in Tom Pelphrey stocks for nearly a decade now and they’re finally paying off, most of the chatter I see about this show is how incredible he is in it
He's one of the only redeeming parts of Iron Fist and was great in Ozark too...definitely did great in this

This show is f***ing incredible man
Pelphrey acting and Robbie’s arc is some of the best TV of this whole decade, honestly

I’ve been on his wave since Banshee which was 2015/2016, even before Iron Fist. Dude has legitimately put in the work and deserves all the praise and (hopefully) the many accolades he’ll be getting for this.

Never watched Banshee maybe I should peep

He seems like the type of actor that would of killed Vikings but missed the casting
This show would be great if anyone other than Mark Ruffalo was cast as the lead. He just does not have the screen presence to pull off this kind of role.
F*** it, I’m still rooting for Grasso.
beautiful ending
what a show man. an absolute home run for me and one of the best limited series of the decade.
I f***ing loved the way episode 6 ended
Lowkey wish that’s how the series ended but the finale was still well done
I heard they're submitting this to awards shows in the "Drama" category as opposed to "Limited Series". IDK if that's cause they think they have a better shot competing there, or they're planning on doing another season.
The only strong limited series I can think of though is Adolescence (which I'm pretty sure already competed at last year's Emmy's), so I can't see why they wouldn't run as a limited series unless they're planning a season 2.
I like Ruffalo's character, I'd be down for another.

There were interviews way back when this was first being developed where Inglesby said he he had ideas for some kind of Mare of Easttown crossover down the line, maybe that'll take the form of season 2?
Been thinking of checking this. Haven’t seen Mare either
Both great and only 7 episodes each. Think I slightly prefer this show though just cause it has a tighter ensemble that’s more impressive across the board. A decent chunk of the supporting cast of Mare was just kinda there tbh (lowkey wasted Jean Smart & Guy Pearce with nothing roles).

never seen mare but this is really really great
