you can say a lot of things about c,xoxo but i'd def not call the prod BORING

feel like tate wants to very much lean in like a BTD-Lana type direction eventually

i mean purple lace bra and all the other emile haynie prod on that deluxe is evident of that

would kinda like her to wait like one more project until she fully leans into that tbh

no like i'm saying they make it sound lifeless and boring by giving us nothing on these songs. tate is just all aesthetics her pen and voice are just not there at all and you can tell they're trying to curate a style for her thorough producers but it's not working tbh

well camila aside, i feel like my appeal for tate has always been the potential for the product given the level i feel like she's already operating at without a real "direction" or "aesthetic" compared to her peers with more than discernible semiotics

and i feel like that's kind of been the main critique of hers aside from some not really liking her vocal style so it's kind of interesting that you say she's "all aesthetics" seeing how that's probably her biggest downside IMO as far as reaching the one tier above where sabrina and olivia exist in

also, she apparently has "full" creative control this go around so i'm actually interested to see what she does with that

i'm actually really really with this production, but this is like maybe one of the least hook-y songs she's dropped in like a whileeeee

which is like weird for me because that combo of tate/tedder/michaels has like been an effortless hook machine that has never failed to deliver earworms

so the almost lack of immediate catchiness is something that is... a little concerning but whatever

also her voice sounds processed a little differently here but that's not a problem

she can do better.. not catchy enough. Greedy was a 10 compared to this.
