The new Tate is obviously really good and her best project ever and there's so many bops and all the other praise I can give it

BUT, I hate this post-Taylor Swift landscape that female Pop artists have to exist in and the expectations that are placed upon them because of that.

While the girls may be dominating the charts and awards shows, I feel like fans/critics/etc have this expectation for these female artists to participate in this self-mythology practice that has became very relevant in recent years as it pertains to their songwriting, lyrics, and personal branding.

Mind you, Tate is only 21 doing what she is doing. The ceiling for someone like her is really f***ing high and I can't wait to see how much BETTER she'll be by the time she's the age of her contemporaries.
