He really wrote that piece of s***? Lmao
Got the feeling he got lucky with Wind River and the others are great thanks to the Directors
Think so?
I believe Sicario, HOHW and Wind river were scripts he wrote alone.
whereas with this film he was hired on to rewrite a script that was already written and to direct last minute
Maybe he's at his best when he's creating s*** he established himself from day 1. Personally I would be more creatively into writing something I came up with rather than being hired on to rewrite someone else work

Hmm that might be it aswell. Feel like with scripts like these he's way more restricted.
Probably also why Sicario 2 was worse than Sicario 1

He wrote 3 s***ty movies back to back, that's what i'm basing it on, but like twitch said above it could be because he was probably way more restricted while writing those 3

This and Sicario 2 are not s***ty
Without remorse script was rewritten after being in development hell for 20+ years

Sicario 2 is definitely s***ty lmao
Haven't seen this one yet though, but it looks like it's a big step down compared to Wind River, Hell or High Water and Sicario. Those 3 are all insanely good.

Nope keep pedaling whatever s*** you deem fit to push tho

Literally just sharing my opinion

Tbh Sicario 2 isn’t terrible, but it’s definitely not anywhere near 1. But that could be due to the director and not the script.
I personally felt this movie was very meh. If they took out the plot holes and unnecessary s*** then it could of been a nice/enjoyable thriller. But there’s too many question marks on this for me that a writer like Taylor shouldn’t have.

The biggest step down. Doesn’t even feel like a Taylor movie compared to those. Or hell just compared to Wind River since he directed that.
the Without Remorse script was surprisingly horrible too. he's either mailing it in or falling off
Multiple writers on that
was this any good? saw it on hbo max last night
i didnt mind it, a bit forgettable. but its totally fine.
hate hearing that this and Without Remorse both aren’t that great definitely still gonna check this out but it sucks, his earlier films were insane
The man who wrote the Nightmare on Elm Street and Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes also wrote Arrival and Lights Out.
Not everything you write is gonna be a winner lay off Taylor!

Yeah but he also wrote bloodshot, bird box, the thing remake. He has way more misses than hits. If anything he got lucky with Arrival. We’ve seen that happen before look at the director who did End of Watch
watched like the first 30 mins and they changed so much about this book. this felt super generic and the villains were nowhere near as smart or well written as they were in the book
This was solid. Not awful but it was missing something that could elevate it past just being aiiiiiiight
I was really enjoying this while I was watching it, but as soon as it ended I reflected on the film as a whole and I was just like: "Is that it "
It's a decent thriller that is worth watching imo, just don't expect too much
