WESLEYS THEORYIt stung. I know Em didn’t release it on that date intentionally. But it would’ve been nice to see Mac get his flowers atleast once. He never got the full recognition he deserved and we thought that’d be his moment.
But once Em surprised dropped, all we heard about was him having the fastest rap ever and talking about suicide bombing outside of an Ariana Grande concert and blah blah blah.
i'm sure you don't want to talk about this for too long, and i get how Em's antics usually overshadow whoever he coincidentally drops around. that's just the game.
the part i'm confused on is Mac "getting his flowers." because i know Mac to be regarded as a celebrated artist with a cult-like fanbase, whose growth in his craft was being taken very seriously (even before his passing).
from your post it seems like you and others believe that a #1 album was the way for him to get his flowers? i just don't see how. a #1 is easy to catch these days. Mac left a legacy that will continues to live on. he already had the flowers.

I agree and your right. I guess It was like the fight in the first Rocky movie. Apollo (Eminem) won the fight, but Rocky (Mac Miller) was the people’s champion.
I guess I just wanted to see Mac have a moment where he won both. It was beyond “numbers” and “statistics”. Em will continue to release plenty of mediocre albums for years to come. But for Mac, that was it. That was his curtain call. And it was a vulnerable moment that got spoiled a little bit.
