with folklore most of the album grew on me with time, but here i'm instantly hooked on almost every song. i have a feeling this won't be as critically acclaimed as folklore, but i honestly couldn't care less.

It's more alt rock than most of her stuff. The National lead guitarist/composer produced and co-wrote it all. Not straight "rock music" but there's electric guitar leads everywhere.

This really is the Amnesiac to her Folklore. Darker, more...strangely structured album, more aggressive in tone and heavier production.
