On some level, Taylor's music can never be as interesting as the spectacle that is her fanbase because she's mastered the essential point of the entertainment industry -- romanticism and conditioning.
it's almost a bit at this point. The music you can argue is mid, but it's kind of irrelevant because she's conditioned her base to like 'her.' Levels that rival MJ honestly.
At it's core, I've always felt success in the business has far more to do with your ability to cultivate, and condition rather than the music itself, and no one does this better than Swift.
