didn't come and go, it's just not a mainstream pop album this time around
still AOTY
Cap
Another Note: that Ferg x TYO x Nicki song is only debuting high cuz of the barbs
That song is fire and deserves to chart high
For something that has the biggest streaming debut of 2020 it is barely talked about IRL and i haven't even heard a song from it.
Plus all the singles that debuted in the top 10 this week is predicted to fall out of the top 10. Pop Smoke album did less sales and still managed to be talked about weeks later, why can't the biggest pop star keep her singles relevant?
I mean I don't really doubt you but are you in any circles that would talk about Taylor in real life lmao? I'm sure they are eating it up
I don't see how. It's a mainstream artist but the album is a lot more stripped down than the pop that will stick around on the charts these days.
Barely any urban elements either. It's not an album with chart staying power.
this is the lead single
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLSUp53y-HQIf ur Taylor level and ur s*** isn’t lasting past the first week or so after it drops it doesn’t have staying power. No excuses lmao
I dont see people irl talk about that new taylor album, something seems off about those numbers
i mean i'll ask again, because i'm actually curious what people mean when they say this
by "irl" are you saying the places and people immediately surrounding you aren't discussing Taylor Swift? which albums are you all currently discussing/being heard discussed in real life?
white girls

My wooden d**** broke too in like thirty seconds.

I just said it doesn't have staying power tho. These songs are too slow and stripped down to be staying on the charts in the middle of summer

honestly it's an opinion i see shared a lot on here so anyone who agrees can feel free to pick it up if he doesn't want to. i'm really just tryna grasp that concept lol

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLSUp53y-HQjust cause it's stripped down does not mean it's not mainstream.
there's no experimentation or unique aspects, the lyrics aren't anything substantial, the soundscape is just her usual pop foundation with watered-down "folk" elements.
I mean unless you're hanging around teen white girls no ones gonna be discussing a T Swfit album
I've seen alot of white girls post about it on social media
I get y'all hate Taylor but cmon
Predictable, bundles only work for one week.
Astroworld says hello
lol an album coming and going for Taylor don't really mean s***. She already sold as many singles and albums as a single/album that would have been continuosly charting. She did every trickery to sell as much as she could. The people who like the songs/album bought and will continue to listen to it.
its not just taylor, its most pop artists in general. they have massive followings but the music they make isnt really that impressive. they have big sales and can get their instant whatever 8/10 review from antiquated music review sites. it doesn't mean anything because the music isnt really impressive and its released in an environment specifically tailored to consume music then move to the next thing, and both the artists and labels are aware of this hence why they rush to make as much money as possible first week since they themselves realize the staying power in the public conscious isn't viable. even more "artistically minded" artists increasingly have this problem. it's a lot harder than it was 20/etc years ago to make an album that genuinely is impactful or sticks to the public, and everyone knows this, and labels have just decided it's not worth it to even attempt to do that anymore when they can just rush first week sales then get streaming residuals from playlists

Tbh just cause your circle doesn’t blast Folklore doesn’t mean it came and went. I think it’s a good album honestly
