I’ve come to the conclusion that TDE is not good at trap. Always feels forced.

  • Oct 9, 2020

Crash Talk and a bunch of tracks on this just aren’t it.

  • Oct 9, 2020

Rapsody verse is so damn fire, really showed she in a different league lyrically. Not a surprise if you constantly hopping on records with black thought

  • Oct 9, 2020

Yeah the epitome of average. Some of the features were great though. Most of this actually did sound corny though. Nothing I’ll come back to

  • Oct 9, 2020

    wait this guy raps?

Bro, you took the words out of my mouth. Something about their trap feels... Idk, it's not effortless at all. It's very "okay THIS RIGHT HERE is the turn up joint, we'll try real hard" but they real good with the soulful s*** tho no cap

Q (at least until crash) and K Dot have no problem with this. Jay Rock don't be hitting for me like that, but he mad gritty tho. Reason just ain't doing anything special on these joints, and I'm actually tryna get into his music

Now that I've listened a few times I love this album. I think the tracklist could've been sequenced a bit better though. Maybe Slow Down or Westside should've been second last rather than Gossip... but that's my main complaint I guess. Stories I Forgot maybe should've been later in the tracklist too

If I could've sequenced this album, I would've done this

    1. Something More
    2. Show Stop
    3. Pop S*** (feat. ScHoolboy Q)
    4. Favourite N*gga
    5. Stories I Forgot
    6. I Can Make It (feat. Rapsody)
    7. Fall
    8. Slow Down (feat. Alemeda)
    9. Flick It Up (feat. Ab-Soul)
    10. SAUCE (feat. Vince Staples)
    11. Extinct (feat. Isaiah Rashad & JID)
    12. Gossip
    13. Westside (feat. Mereba)
    14. Window's Cry
    15. Trapped In (feat. Ab-Soul & Boogie) bonus track

    But that's just me

My main issue with this album are some of the hooks

Something More, Favorite Nigga and Show Stop are the worst songs but they're not terrible

Overall it's a good album that shows a lot of potential, Reason is at his best when he's being transparent and he did that a lot on this album

It's crazy to think that he's only been making music for 5 years
Only if he worked on his hooks...the potential is so crazy
Man has bars, he got hunger in his voice that I haven't heard in many rappers, he can do storytelling well, he can make bangers, he can get very introspective
He's almost there but needs a little bit more work

Of course if TDE chose him then there's a reason ( no pun intended) about hook well he don't have to go anywhere he got likes of SiR, Zacari, SZA and even Skiiiwalker he should have used them more in this project.

Regardless his voice is unique and he got potential to evolve more in future.

kinda feel bad for him TDE killed his career before it even started. nobody wants this s*** right now so its getting overlooked

I know he didn't diss him but he could have made his point without including his name. Disrespectful imo..

Just watched the bootleg kev interview. Says the collab album with Cozz from Dreamville will be around 7 tracks, want to get features from TDE and Dreamville on there, and drop the project around January-February, and then drop his debut album second quarter 2021. Hopefully some other TDE artists drop between these releases or this guy is gonna get killed haha
