Seen a couple people mention there being a day one patch. Is that confirmed? Do we even really know how the game performs on regular Switch hardware?

You can make your own building/house and customize it.
Also there are:
60 side adventures (long extra eventful quests)
31 shrine quests
Approximately 140 side quest not including side adventures

Note side adventures weren’t really a thing in BOTW. Just side quests, and in this game they about double that alone while adding on side adventures.
