honestly a lot of old head s*** - i've been having a bit of an artistic crisis (i produce and dj) and have been listening to s*** that reminds me of why i got into it

a lot of gentler downtempo techno which has been nice as a palette refresher

good picks bruh, I always Like keeping old shi in my rotation just bc its timeless fr. I think you might fw fadi mohem’s dj sets… he mixes alot of new techno with old stuff like mills, basic channel, surgeon, heiko laux, fumiya tanaka etc

looking for raw, rugged soulful recs. no shade on the hypermodern thing happening now, but it's been going and going and going, and i need a switch up

I love some and others not so much. I was more of a fan of it when it felt new, like a revival or the late 90s sound but with contemporary sleek production. Alarico still my goat, and that primal instinct still looking ahead but at the same time I get why people in the Berghain/Proper Techno subreddit say alot of djs in this realm lack story telling. I didnt really get it too much until techno became all I listen too pretty much atp so just hours of pure functional bangers gets a little numbing… I hate to sound like a snob… but it seems like its too a point now where everyone has switched up their style to that sound just to keep up

yeah i completely agree. ive felt really nostalgic for like the hardware techno scene of 10 years ago. just really patient chill building techno that builds really slower into banger territory.

Now i feel like a techno set is like "Bit of tech house, dash of hard house, some hardgroove" - Which is cool i'm not slagging it and have tons of fun during those sets, but yeah i just want the option for something else.

I barely even hear about minimal nights in my city.

That last one is the most soulful, they remind me alot of Galaxy 2 Galaxy
