This hasn’t been the case for over a decade and any new innovation on a consumer level are just creature comforts designed to keep you on them

always use the mobile browser version

  • bro we literally got a whole ass computer / tv / gaming console / playboy mag / mp3 / dvd player / camera / casino / gps in our pockets, and its a damn PHONE, we peaked

  • I feel u op I have found my attention span has dropped drastically compared to 10-15 years ago. It’s also easier than ever to not engage with anyone in public

  • This isn't just about technology—it's about the way we choose to live. Not fear. Not nostalgia. Just a reminder of what really matters. The result? A perspective that challenges people to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. Posts like this don't just spark discussion—they inspire meaningful conversations. Thank you for sharing.

phones are gonna be viewed like cigarettes in 20-40 years.

incredibly addictive. everyone’s hooked at a young age. very similar playbook

Dude the duration from pagers’ zenith to phones today is 40 years. In 40 years time, we will have the technological equivalent of fentanyl if we look back on these days as cigarettes

  • Ayo, I'm tired of using technology. Why don't you sit down on top of me?

You can say everything's bad with sweeping generalisations, not everyone lives like this, you have the ability and autonomy to live the life you want to live!

    No I don't

I could get the parrot maybe and the eye patch but getting a ship like that is basically impossible and who's to say there's even any treasure left

People never traveled much to begin with, in fact traveling is at its most high

Rest sounds like a skill/personal issue - plenty of people are still doing things and people are still outside

Are they traveling or proving that they travel?

Also travel is the only event level and anticipation and delayed gratification commodity left with all the instant access everywhere else

we’re at the fentanyl stage. you can throw your entire life away with a few taps on the glass depending on your chosen medium (IG/twitter/FB ranting, gambling, scamming or for example Durks case, planning murders)

it’s a crazy world we operate in now with many ways of living that were normalized quickly due to the telecommunication act and we just mindlessly accepted it as normal and now you’re cooked if you’re in any way hooked to the big 4 social medias and can’t separate from your device for more than a week, which has also been made impossible because many people need their device to sign in to work (MS Authenticator)

    tread lightly king

I disagree in that the fentanyl stage will be technologically (chemically) inseparable from reality - not just socially or culturally damning like you correctly say

You have good points but you can always put your phone down - client meetings, dinner with friends, at the cinema etc.

Once mobile technology becomes fused with our body - something people find far fetched but I have no idea why considering the advancements in disability tech in 25/26 - then we’re at a new stage

40 years from now if you extrapolate the leap from pagers to an iPhone 17 will be dishonest work

  • The AR pipeline will be very interesting once it becomes more mainstream - Oculus and Apple were horrible attempts

The combination of AR glasses, cloud computing and traditional devices (like hearing aids to an AR hearing-enhancing device) has the potential to do some much good it will inevitable cause so much to go wrong

I just think we are already here. You have people with the ability to real time take pictures of you with meta glasses, create an AI poster, wifi print it to printer nearby and stick the wanted poster at the front of the store you’re casually walking around through and now your life is ruined on some fentanyl s*** off of a prank if someone approaches off that s*** and you been in the store for less than 5 minutes is how quick it can happen now. Or someone can literally scan your face now as you walk by casually, pull up your public social profiles and public information, and ruin your life in seconds if they so choose

I just think we’ve advanced quicker than people are willing to admit where the iPhone 17 is already laughable

  • The tech is only partially to blame

    Fan fiction

    Sure maybe this is possible

It’s certainly not happening at any relevant scale at all

  • State v individual uses of tech more likely than peer to peer sabotage via tech for the sake of just doing it

Literally last month man, please shut the f*** up, respectfully. I got better s*** do than create fanfiction bruh. the “relevant scale” has already been rolled out to institutions that affect people’s daily lives
