i just found a study that said most mass shooting from 1982 to now were done with legally acquired weapons but tbh the data was not clear. it only listed like 120 mass shootings total and idk what their parameters were

but i do believe a large chunk of gun violence is committed with legally acquired weapons iirc. ya there's illegal weapons which are obviously getting around gun laws but still this stuff can easily happen after someone goes through the process
