But it would probably f*** up the environment because you essentially would have to make the “flyable” roadways in places that currently already dont have roads maybe even lower than normal highways
Yup. I mean they might even have to do something that is practically impossible like rezone housing across the country or enforce "no-fly roads" in the majority of areas in states since thats where most residential stretches are. (Which would require exponentially more police or state authorities, and people to train them on how to enforce these new laws, using crazy amounts of money that we do not have.) We already have extremely strict airpace legislation that prevents various aircraft from flying over residential areas at a certain altitude.
They arent about to let whatever f***ass people just start "flying" 1-ton machines anywhere near houses or urban residential developments. They may even require a much stricter licensure process if these vehicles do hit the consumer market. A process less rigorous than commercial pilots, but far more strict and demanding than current standard driving tests.
