how do you people not understand that they will use this self-driving technology IN 'public transportation'

    not to mention

    trucking/logistics/delivery industries etc.

Yes that's applied too, but there's an obvious push to have self driving ai in the front of everyone's minds VS actually trying to push actually good public transportation that could use the ai.

You must live in Europe where public transportation is actually done right. In America it’s a sluggish s***hole unless you live in a highly densely populated area at least the size of DC or something

Im in Houston so that's why I have this stance lol

Anything related to personal automobile advancement when facing the Holocene extinction just comes off as utterly blind, foolish, and deserving of punishment.

But i guess rich ppl get safer cars or whatever that's big pog

The cronies at the top hastening the end of humanity should be the ones really worrying you, not people crushed under the malevolent heel of a truly cruel society.

That's debatable tbf, I just look at all the horrors that humanity has committed over the centuries using a million different bullshit "reasons" and I feel no remorse for us having created our own extinction.

It took a lot of work to come to this point of acceptance without even more anger. I try and keep a lid on it but when people applaud for something very cool like self driving cars, AND when the backdrop of the product reveal is the end of the world it seems just a bit foolish teehee. Maybe if we weren't on the precipice of, again, our literal extinction, you'd catch me more excited for something like this.

In 10 years, car manufacturers won’t sell anything but self-driving electric cars

In 20 years, everyone will have a self driving electric car

Tesla is far beyond what any other company is working on, and they will be the market leader. (Think Apple in the phone business)

More than 38,000 people die every year in crashes on U.S. roadways

what is the percentage of that if you compare it to how many people are driving for a year
