Her last album was literally 23 tracks long with stacked features. She did it her way and it flopped. Sorry but that maybe your music should be better. Meg the Stallion was literally unknown until like 18 months ago and now she's a household name, it's nobody's fault but Teyana's that people don't f*** with her music
The label has definitely f***ed up with respect to Teyana, but Cudi/John Legend/Common/Big Sean all had their most commercially successful projects under GOOD. Hell, Daytona was released during the same time as KTSE and it's regarded as one of the best albums of 2018. The reality is that Teyana's music is unremarkable.
Isn’t she actually successful though, last I saw on Spotify she gets a lot of plays
It depends on what type of deal she has but labels are taking the majority of the gross profits because put up the initial funds so obviously they have to make their investment back first. Then when net profits come in there's interest from that loan plus the labels percentage for taking the risk in the first place. Then she gets her cut if this is a normal deal. Label's don't just take money to promote that would've already been given in the loan for her management to do all that for her before the album is out.
Notice how she hasn't said she offered to buy herself out. They're not going to just "let her go" when they probably haven't even made back the money they paid her to sign. I'm not trying to cover GOOD because they could do some things better but Teyana barely put much out and now she's taking about leaving and being ungrateful for everything they gave her on that Wyoming album.
if she's in debt to them it is what it is and i guess they dont have to drop her just bc its "right" thing to do
but at the same time what was the money blown on? lol if she hasn't been getting promo and true big budget marketing?
and if she is in debt does it not make more sense to promote her to a place of recouping rather than just sitting and making no money or continuing to waste more money by giving her projects with small budgets and no promo rather than giving her a fair push and if she still fails THEN f*** it let her sit

She did these with minimal push and promotion
I'm sure with a true rollout and proper ads/billboards/magazine covers/interviews/etc. she can have that project that gets her straight or at least validates her receiving the proper attention here on out
but whats most likely scenario is she's gonna have to keep doing this and her fans are gonna make so much noise to pusha ye and def jam via social media that they just gonna drop her
I love how people love to blame Ye for Teyana not taking off and not the simple fact that Teyana might just not have the type of music to grab people
some real hatred itt for no good reason
sexual angst they dont know how to express which manifests into her somehow being stupid for wanting to be let go from a record deal

If people streamed her music as much as they tweet about her then she'd be a best-selling artist
You have no idea how the music industry works
niggas talking about "getting yourself out there" like these niggas dont take 80% out of every dollar she make to....get her out there lmao
Her music is just trash
The one time she had all the hype in the world with the fade video she fumbled it with trash music. KTSE was the only time she seemed interesting, Gonna Love Me is her biggest song for a reason. Plus it doesn’t help she constantly had an identity crisis her entire career.
Some people are meant to be stars, others are meant to be TheShadeRoom singers, and that’s what she is
If people streamed her music as much as they tweet about her then she'd be a best-selling artist
bro on me
she literally dropped a 30 song album and it sold less than the 7 song Kanye produced record

Yes nobody is watching or listening to her music with all these M's next to her view counts
Teyana's 23 track album that she released on her own terms did worse numbers than the 7 track album that she did with Ye. The problem is pretty easy to see - she's not that unique relative to her competition.
If I'm in the mood to listen to a female RnB singer, I'm listening to SZA and H.E.R and Snoh Alegra 10/10 times before I head over to Teyana's work
