Bought it the day it came out
Amazing record.
Dr carter is one my fav Wayne tracks
Listening to 3 peat always brings u back to the hype of the moment it dropped
this the only album i remember completely taking over my whole city. you couldnโt go anywhere without hearing it or somebody driving by blasting it
one of the biggest cultural movements in the history of hip-hop
and overtime it's getting it's just deserves and the mountains of praise it rightfully earned.
Happy 13th To Tha Carter III. ๐๐
Oh...and the F is for Phenomenal ๐
Leaks and tapes were better but this album is definitely a classic and marked a significant point in time where Wayne felt like the final boss in a video game who couldn't be defeated.
From sales to hits to features to mixtapes, Wayne basically carried hip hop on his back in 08 in a time where rap sales were drying up in the late 2000's due to pirating websites. And him helping blow Drake and Nicki up after 08 solidified it.
My favorite songs are A Milli, Let The Beat Build, and Mr. Carter, and Dr. Carter.
Uncomfortable, Phone Home, and Ms. Officer were cool but kinda underwhelming to me mainly because I felt Wayne had enough creativity to take those songs to another level as concepts. Still dope tracks though.
One of the most successful albums oat but not one of the best ever. Especially when C3 Sessions exists.
Regardless though this album was like the defining moment of his legendary run.
wayne was inescapable omg... i was like 7 or 8 yrs old when this came out. i remember watching the world premiere of the lollipop video on 106 & park.
