My life is garbage and I feel completely empty but this forum helps me feel connected, at least in some way. I appreciate all of you goofy motherfuckers.

Thread is pointless but I jus wanted to put this out there.

    OP real

  • It’s interesting how most of us would never talk to each other in real life but on this forum we can all shoot the s*** and crack jokes on each other. It’s a beautiful thing.

I'm happy for you that, despite your life situation etc, you're able to feel SOME joy from something, and to feel some connection to a place like this forum.

Sometimes that little joy, however small, is ALL we need to keep going for just another day or to keep from doing something to hurt ourselves :

For you to keep holding on to that joy and transmute it into even greater joy i suggest the following

Write a day-to-day journal! (no big brain sentences, just write down whatever you are thinking about, what you are feeling, a word and make this a practice)

Try to think of 5 things that you are grateful for or happy for in your present moment everyday (however tiny or silly) make it into a game and be playful with it! And watch yourself easily rack up like 20-40 things to be happy for INSTANTLY over time! and for some positive thoughts to hit you first thing in the morning when you wake up

i'll give you 5 things to get you started

"I'm happy for someone sharing the "5 things to be happy for"-thing with me"

"i'm glad that i already thought about 1 thing to be happy for whilst trying to come up with a second thing"

"i'm happy that i am reading this right now" <3

"i'm grateful for that i can be appreciative of these goofy mfs"

"i'm grateful for that i can appreciate me being able to be appreciative"

"I'm grateful for appreciating that i can appreciate me being able to be appreciative"

"i'm glad for this forum helping me feel connected in some way"

"i'm grateful for that feeling connected in someway, is better than feeling connected in no way"

"i'm glad i already thought of 5 things, wait... is this a sixth thing? i already did MORE THAN 5? WOW, Wait I Am ALSO happy for that, does that make this a seventh thing?" <3<3

    Meditate! Everyday! PLEASEPleasePLEAsE!

just a simple un-complicated "Comfortable position + closed eyes + focused attention on the practice of breathing in and out slowly" for 10-20 minutes, it will help regulating how you talk to yourself mentally, de-cluttering your head space, make you connect A WHOLE LOT more with your surroundings, present moment. if you're feeling extra brave > blind fold + noise protecting Bob the Builder head phones and go for a whole hour

Take up running/jogging if you haven't already! excercise/Working-out in general, but running outdoors can be a good place to start if one is anxious about going to gyms, or dont know where to start and that sort of thing. and if you're lucky enough to live near a nature-esque area with forrests and trails, PLEASE go for walks and just spend time in nature

Go to Youtube load up TABS of funny videos YOU KNOW will make you ROFLMAO and GUARANTEE that you die laughing offensive memes/Void memes/if you laugh you go to hell-ish-stuff is the GOAT for this

and.... the ring to rule them all, the final infinity stone... DRINK MORE WATER pro-tip: if you're not living in a constant state of fear from dying from over-hydration you are not drinking enough water

If you compound a writing Journal + 5 things to be grateful for + Meditation + excercise + Spending time in nature/walking + making it a practice to increase your volume of laughter + drinking more water, then you've got yourself a a great foundation to ground yourself and keep going

and none of these cost a thing
but even better, I PROMISE YOU this will work
