I don’t see how it’s so hard to accept the fact that gender reassignment surgery should only be allowed for 18+, 16 even but that’s pushing it.

Literally just try to imagine yourself in the shoes of a transgender child/a child experiencing gender dysphoria. Imagine how you would feel if some individual, like yourself right now, completely removed from the situation who will face no immediate consequences from any of it, tried to tell you that you can't make a decision regarding your life. to just wait. maybe not even till youre 18 and legally an adult. but till 25, when "your brain is more developed." Imagine being 5 years old and experiencing gender dysphoria but for the next 13-20 years you've gotta just deal with it as you go through puberty and all of that because some people think you're just an ignorant little child who can't understand a thing. this is what you are arguing for.

You don't have gender reassignment surgery before you're 18. Literally the accepted practice is social transitioning > puberty/hormone blockers > gender reassignment surgery if the person wants it

but not all transgender people even have gender reassignment surgery. its just amazing to me how people like you so badly want to have an opinion on this but remain so willfully ignorant.

Do you truly believe a 5 year old knows what's right for them? Do you think because a 5 year old came up to you and said I'm a girl you would give then surgery immediately? Honestly answer that question for yourself.

Wtf were you doing at 5 years old synopsis? Were you attending philosophy lectures? Because most people were learning to write.

Anyone who is willing to do gender reassignment surgery on a 5 year old is morally corrupt. You are also equally responsible for that kids life being f***ed up if they made the wrong decision at 5 YEARS OLD.

At what middle school age can I make life altering decisions while I still learning to color outside the lines? Theres a famous 11 year old who's being praised for their surgery. I say it's a shame considering that's the age when you first start to realize there are long term effects to things. It's the first time your mind expands more.

The doctor is operating on kids but were cool with it. Theres a moral fiber that's missing.

How tf is it an extremist right wing opinion to not only say that you accept transgender people, but to encourage their behavior?

The only thing you and I differentiate on in this debate is what age they should get the surgery. I have always said you should wait until the child has grown up to be have a healthy and mature mentality to handle the reality and circumstances of their newfound situation.
