Lets be honest elden ring winning goty easily. That game still is a cultural phenomenon, had the best reception, sold the most and was not only an Evolution of the souls formula but also brought from to the top of the industry. Havent played the sony games so cant judge myself and wont vote in fact, but ER imo got it

But why not nominate the directors themselves then? As it is it feels like its a second award to the goty, because all the qualities listed for the category are what a goty needs to win lol. If It was best game directors It wouldve been more logical imo
