Again I actually don’t even mind Quin, just think he’s not the right coach for this Hawks team, he doesn’t really have emphasis in development, with a young team you need that. He’s a known playoff choker, lost 4 games straight to the clippers when the Jazz were the number #1 seed years ago ironically looked exactly how the Knicks just beat the Hawks in the 1st round lol.

Case in point hes awful at making adjustments when the pressure is on, it’s way more bad than good I’ve seen from him that’s all I’m saying, it’s just a lot of s*** I’ve seen from him makes me not be able to believe in him. It is what it is though, Taylor Jenkins was the guy I was hoping we’d be all after, that ship sailed. back to play hard get better mode like the last 3-4 years I do trust Onsi Salah

    I dont trust Onsi #11Forever

Don’t let 1-2 months of good play in the regular season (against majority of mid teams) and just 2 games in the playoffs make you think he’s some kind of elite coach

You Guys want a coach that can overachieve with us so bad like nate did in 2021 we are just not that good we are playing exactly where our level is

Again like I’ve said Quin does not put high emphasis on development, it’s very clear. Say what you want to say about ZR, I still believe and see his potential to be a great player in this league but it’s very obvious Quin has entirely given up on him. I believe 2 things can be true though like Cam touched on in this thread missing Trae definitely hurt with Risacher’s game, I agree with that but also when I’m at the games watching and literally see multiple times throughout this season ZR showing positives on the court (that one game against Toronto earlier this year & the game back in March against Sacramento off the top of my head) only to randomly be thrown on the bench for no apparent reason, and just overall not even trying to put him in a winnable situation. There have been similar situations you could say he’s done with Asa Newell and Mo Gueye too, obviously not great for a young players confidence you can see it pretty evidently on their faces especially with Risacher.

He doesn’t value the defensive side of the ball (dejounte Murray literally said in an interview Quin told him to lighten up on defense) although I admit this did get better at the end of the season. But I cannot count how many times we’ve given up 130+ points in a game this year against subpar teams just being so relaxed on defense, but you didn’t even have to watch many of the games to see how evident that was this season

The dude has had some of the most abysmal lineups at times even more so recently in the playoffs, for example he had a lineup of Tony Bradley, Dyson Daniels, and Corey kispert in the 1st quarter of that game 5 That’s completely unserious lol & in that game we pretty much never recovered/were able to put together a comeback after just keeping it within 5-7 that 1st quarter before he decided to go with that rotation. But that was just a more recent miscue, there have been horrid rotations for him throughout the entire season even against sub .500 teams a good bit which resulted in us blowing a game (ie game against Chicago in December)

Like I also stated another major problem with Quin is his adjustments during playoff series, he’s got history of being out coached and not countering when the opposing team makes adjustments, the Jazz blew that series against the clippers and you saw it clearly as day recently in the playoffs against the Knicks.

I ain’t saying that at all, just a coach that would compliment a young team like what we got, I think ime udoka (who at the team was available but atl went heavy after Quin) and Taylor Jenkins would have been great options for the Hawks.

Again I’m actually not tripping too much on Quin as a coach overall tbh he just a bad coach for a young team needing to develop like atl, and if you’ve followed me on here throughout this season I been very vocal in him even back in November, just thought we could have had better options. But I ain’t tripping, I’m actually pretty excited to see what Onsi does with the team going into next season.

thing is how do you improve at coach in the nba

because most nba coaches have similar flaws or look like s***, competency all around does not seem to run strong for basketball coaches. Even OKC coach was letting chet stink up out there, kenny and the trash he was running with the cavs, knicks were doing dumb s*** not attacking match ups until they locked in all of a sudden

i can say quin not a worldbeater, but i dont know if i trust the resslers to land the perfect guy either

Facts, I agree 100% ngl I gotta keep reminding myself about the resellers and how they likely the biggest issue just based on stuff behind the scenes over these last couple years

Crying at you bringing up the absolute worst players on the team and ignoring his development with JJ dyson and NAW. its not his job to transform players into superstars some players just aren't good and we haven't drafted well enough to turn 2nd rounders into starters. Core example no player has left the hawks in the last 7 years and gotten better.

Also WHO HAS udoka developed lmfaooo this rockets team regressed this year.

Risacher is not a good player bro idk what you think he's supposed to do with a player who has no offensive game and is regressing on defense

Dejounte literally only has himself to blame and the fact you believe his salty ass after he got into it with quin after not getting enough touches when he was cheeks on both sides of the ball terrible example.

You're literally blaming quin for having a s*** roster that's not his fault at all. The roster is weak and he is trying all his options since his main lineups arent working. I would rather have someone try trying then keep doing the same s***.

  • Quin haters whole argument be like everything bad is his fault

Everything good has nothing to do with him

  • Nobody said he’s supposed to transform our players into superstars but at least show some kind of commitment to developing players that’s what I’m saying, and I’ve praised Jalen all year huge negative part of his game is the defensive liability, but once again Quin doesn’t focus on that
