I'd be perfectly happy if they discontinue this universe altogether. The Batman is highly overrated and so is The Penguin. Matt Reeves's gritty grounded world ain't as grounded and impressive as he thinks it is.
I really hope it isn't Kumail Nanjiani man...
Hate to break it to you but…
The ending of part 1 is perfect for a timeskip. Imagine part 2 with Pattinson introducing Damian to Andy Serkis and he says "Sir I think you have enough children already" and we see D*** and Jason sitting on a couch with and empty seat in the middle. It could honestly work if they lean hard into it "Yeah this Batman has been up to a lot since the last time you saw him"
This some ass fanfic i would be fuming
Yeah… about that

Deadline saying the sequel is VFX heavy

Its so f***ing over. Matter of time until Pattinson or Reeves drops

I agree with this for the most part. I think the idea that they were going for is incredible, but the movie doesn't execute well enough on it for me.
I personally wouldn't discontinue it just cause I think there is a strong potential ceiling there that can be reached

Penguin was fire

Matt is writing the script so it’s his choice to make it a VFX heavy film
It’s rumored that Pattinson is for the DCU integration
Either way I don’t see either of them dropping out
Hate to break it to you but…
lmao yeah I know, I just hope they reconsider especially with the backlash from the rumors

They could make reeves stuff set in the past before rise of superheroes. Keep it dark and gritty as is. Let it exist in the larger world and tease out but let it be off to the side a little.
Then fast forward to rest of DCU and maybe now he has Damian or a Robin. Maybe Batman is a little happier now and allow a change in tone.
Gunn already said it gonna be like Star Wars world of stories, so timeline can be played with a little
When Reeves drops out and Gunn says the 2027 release was so he could have time to direct it himself
Brave and the Bold is on indefinite hold too. IDK what's going on man but the timing too spooky.

Alot of folks been trying to will this Pattinson Batman into the DCU in existence with the fan art and stuff
