Why. She’s a good actress. This idea she’s not is this weird myth on this site.
I'm not even suggesting she's a bad actress by any means. I think she's decently talented.
I just don't know if she's got anything meaningful to bring to this young, goth and angsty version of Batman and his slick pulpy grimy Gotham.
I need someone with a bit more edge than Sydney. Names escape me at the moment but maybe Rooney Mara could prove to be a really good fit, albeit that's too obvious of a pick.

Yeah Rooney Mara is honestly a good choice but probably for a different character. I think Sydney does have an edge though. I mean she’s on two pretty relatively dark HBO shows and has a decent amount of range to go to darker places on a personality level. I think you’re just maybe seeing her as too basic of a blonde to fit into that world but a character like Poison Ivy should stand out, not blend in with the environment and mood. It’s really more all about the script and the direction to make someone shine. I wasn’t sold on Pattinson or Kravitz either until I saw them in action.
I'm willing to bet we will see Joker again in the Arkham show. I think he'll he a big part of that
I just don’t know if mr freeze works in this universe. There’s just some things I cannot imagine not looking fake and phony. The more CGI you have to add in you end up playing with fire imo and risk the movie looking campy in spots

I loved this movie. But just sick of Reeves wasn't taking the ""everything has to berealistic" angle that Nolan already took.
I want to see Batman in the skies punching tf out of Man Bat or some s***. I want to Clayface covering ppl in clay goop
Idk if it's too late now; but I feel like this movie could have still work with a tad bit of subtle fantasy mixed in.
robert pattinson best batman
the batman best batman film
i don’t rate christian bale like that

I love Digital Bath but I think they’d go with something slower and moodier. I imagine if they picked any Deftones then Change (In The House Of Flies) would be the choice.
Imagining a trailer set to Change

If Matt wants grounded, I’ll take grounded
But from every interview of him I’ve seen/read, he’s nit above making things fantastical. He just needs to find a way to ground it into his version of this Gotham. Like he grounded a war with apes into the real world.

I don't think reeves went crazy out of his way to make it "realistic" per se, gritty for sure. Like idk, the cops move as a unit of at least like 20 extras on screen at once. That's some comic goon s*** if I've ever seen it. Batman even fought named goons that were twins. I think he positioned this world/tone squarely in the middle
Idk about clayface, but I could totally see man bat. I could totally see Mr freeze.
How yall feel about him potentially moving on from that emo Wayne persona
Growth is necessary to anybody but I love this rendition as Bruce.
Reeves said he doesn’t want to do Joker for a sequel, he just wanted to establish he exists. He said he’s interested in Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. It would be cool to take the Batman & Robin villains and actually make them work. I thought Oscar Isaac and Sydney Sweeney would be good playing them respectively. People clowned on me for the Sweeney take but she’s recently been nominated for multiple Emmy’s, is as competent of an actress as Kravitz, and honestly would just look amazing in a Poison Ivy costume if I’m being superficial. If not her Maya Hawke would be a great choice which would be a neat nod considering her mother Uma Thurman played the character before.
A little young tbh
I think Riley keough would be fire for ivy imo.

Well, I know there are definitely stuff in this movie that's a little less "realistic" than anything the Nolan trilogy(which I understand is necessarily super "realistic" itself).
But Reeves himself has stated that he wanted his take on Batman to be fairly grounded. So at the very least I don't expect that he's gonna take on the more fantastical elements of the universe as of now

Slow down tiger
Sorry I don’t get off to 7 hour black and white films with no dialogue

Joker being in the background of the films would be amazing tbh
