If true this has likely been the case for several months at minimum. Beatles was rumored to be in production starting last month and is shooting 4 films for well over a year. Fraser surely didn't just casually join it

Sucks but happy for him cus thats an amazing job that would be hard to skip the opportunity to do. He served Batman and Dune well. He was incredibly integral to The Batman, but I'm not entirely worried about Reeves finding a great cinematographer for this sequel. This having elite cinematography is kinda mandatory. He knows how to find the right guy

edit: Josh Brolins remarks were about Fraser not doing Dune 3 because of The Beatles. He's probably never been attached to Batman then like we thought cus he'd be busy all of through this and next year

I remember a brief period there was a lot of hype off a rumor he was DP The Batman wayy back before Fraser was clarified to be hired. Wouldn't be shocked.

Also really hoped back then Reeves would continue with Michael Seresin following Apes. He's up there in age and might be retired now tho so idk...

This is pretty much a lock for having an elite DP regardless but I just hope whoever is as intimately involved with cast and story as Fraser was.

Frasers booked and doesn't stick around for long. I don't think there was an actual opening here and Reeves hinted that on Penguin press tour last year.

You can make the hypothetical case that Fraser would choose this over Project Hail Mary if it started production last year but i'm not convinced considering its another hyped Andy Weir adaptation with Lord and Miller directing after 12 years. And now we know this and next year weren't options even for Dune

Frasers a DP you're lucky to work with once. Reeves, Denis and Gareth Edwards have all had him twice.

Its Sam Mendes. I don't think these are just gonna be run of the mill biopics. He always has an elite cinematographer and I'm sure Fraser didn't hesitate to jump at this.

It’s a rumor based off an apparent press conference where Zoe’s team allegedly asked for no Batman questions cus she “doesn’t know anything and isn’t in it”

I feel like we need more details on that. Based on what we heard from cast so far none of them have actually read the script. Also find it weird her team would need to do that….almost suspicious actually

She went to Bludhaven and this is only a few months later so tbf it isn’t a given she’d dominate screen time like she did in the first film

I don't recall honestly. I wasn't following much of the rumors outside of villains so may have missed earlier stuff on Zoe. I'm referring to whatever Jeff Snyder claimed about a press event a few days ago

I've also only been realizing more recently as we get closer to production that this needs an entire new supporting cast basically lol. So much where wiped out or won't be needed from the first film, and the only true locks are like Rob, Colin, Jeffery, Serkis and likely Jayme Lawson.

I mean building a whole new supporting cast could be cool, reeves built a dope world out with the first and his casting director was great
