So is this movie still expected to be set just 2 months after Part 1? I hated it back then and I hate it even more now that it's coming out 5 years after part 1 (just give it a 5 year timeskip so we can see a more experienced battinson)

Initially I was pro-timeskip, but after Penguin...what really changes by doing that? The first movie pretty overtly indicated Bruce/Batman would be different the next time we see him.

In a few weeks of this universe post-The Batman, Oz went from a mid-tier gangster who few took seriously to the kingpin of Gotham living out of a penthouse, running a new d*** scene and looking to get into politics. The entire Falcone-Maroni duopoly that dominated decades of the city also doesn't exist anymore with both mobs killed off. Gotham also has a new mayor and needs a new police commissioner, DA, etc..

There's enough here for Bruce to have undergone a considerable change in how he operates both as Wayne and Batman. I get your point i just don't see the value right now cus they pigeonholed themselves into forcing evolution on characters and Gotham already. Status quo already changed and Batman will appear more experienced

wait why did i have the impression that this was NEVER coming for so long, or atleast for a long while

I feel like we kinda easily overlook how they casually named Oz's girl Eve Karlo. Not only that, but she was like the only supporting character to not die or be jailed by the end. Arguably the highest chance of appearing in the sequel alongside Oz

She "transforms" into Oz's mom to fill his void. The same could be said of her many wigs, transforming to fulfill clients needs, etc.. She's not an actress but she does play roles....

There was a lot going on with the main story but these were pretty intentional decisions to make. Maybe it was also LeFranc's job to deliver Eve alongside Penguin back to Reeves. Her imitating Oz's mom as she dances with him is the last thing we see before the Bat logo

I hear Batman is anti vacation, anti LGBTQ, and pro Gotham first, in the new movie.

I actually thought the ending of the Penguin was the perfect spot for a timeskip. Part 1 was cool to see an unexperienced batman just figuring things out. But now I want to see him full fledged with the gadgets and evolved into that playboy Bruce Wayne persona. A lot of things I just don’t see being fully realized in a couple months

I feel like we're assuming his characterization radically changes in that scenario when you can also just do it in a shorter time. Like they already wrote a completely different Oz for the next film. Why couldn't they just also write a evolved Bruce? I'm sure there will be a ton of updates in the next introductory monologue and opening scenes that can contextualize any changes.

I feel like new gadgets and an evolved Wayne persona are some of the basic things to expect here regardless. Wayne's playboy image isn't some advanced personality construction its pretty basic. Its not really hard to turn a young billionaire who lives in a penthouse to that imo.

Not saying anything new here but update from Colin's read. Feel like he always downplays his role. Villains don't get much screen time

The realist in me says they’re still figuring it out because I’m still not convinced The Brave and the Bold is a real movie

The delusional person in me thinks the merge has already happened

What if Brave and the Bold is essentially The Batman Part III? It’s the “y’all won’t have to wait damn near a decade for the next Batman” film? What if Dynamic Duo is the ‘bridge’ film between Part II and Part III/BATB?

    Could not happen ofc

That honestly would be the best of both worlds

    “But Matt’s vision”

He can still do his saga, it’ll just be the early years!

Also, I don’t remember Matt himself saying he’s got a plan for Part III

It was most recently reported last week from The Wrap that Dynamic Duo is neither DCU or Reevesverse. Its just a unique animated film based off a pitch on two Robins training together as far as we currently know

The connection to Part III will likely just be another LeFranc HBO show based on the conclusion of Part II.

Why does "The Brave and the Bold" NEED to exist beyond being a cool Gunn idea he had in 2022/2023 that some fans were interested in? I'm not understanding the mandate for the film idea or why in a collaboration scenario that a future Reeves film needs to inherit the concept.

Now I'm seeing people ay Pt. 1 and The Penguin should be loose canon like TSS

    But why?

What in that movie contradicts anything that has happened so far in the DCU? These first two movies, if in the DCU, could take place in the past.
