Feb 24, 2023·3 repliesI hope this universe isn't trying to be too grounded and realistic. Reeves needs to get us fantastical villains like Clayface and Man Bat. And give us villains we haven't got yet in live action. If Reeves doesn't want comparisons to the Nolan movies which already gave us the best realistic batman he should switch things up. It felt like Riddler in the first movie was trying to be too much like Ledger's Joker or Hardy's Bane in how he was written and how the actor went with the character. We didn't get a true Riddler and that sucks because he's one of my favorites

I don’t know if we’ll get those types of characters from Reeves’ universe. He’s called his Batman films “The Crime Saga”
Seems like this series will deal with the criminal underworld. The DCU Batman will likely deal with the fantastical villains. That’s not to say Reeves won’t do any, but it’s not as likely to be in this series and more likely to be in The Brave and The Bold

they announced it pretty soon after the movie was released if I'm remembering correctly
