I guess this is supposed to be a joke?
Should I laugh now to be polite?
Well I don't know how else to respond to dumb s*** like that
I said "he doesn't recognize the folk aspect" but ok PAL
Also who said he wasn't gonna recognize the folk aspect?
There's ways to go about this and you're purposefully choosing to be a d*** about it

Holy s*** you guys are sensitive
Iirc he responded to me first with hard sarcasm
yeah i dont really f*** with the Mount Vernon and Fairway fairytale EP thing lol
its kinda cool as a weird curiosity but not as much as a listen
how did we excuse racism
Lol idk I'm not targeting you
All I remember is someone complaining about that, don't even remember who but yeah
I don't think you're one of them
But a poster said it was horrible and they preferred Weezer thread because of it
I just wanted for a smile sessions listening session today. Where are the smiles? Eyes on the smile
Too old to make threads focused on one artist anymore tbh, left those days on ktt1
I don't care if you make it
but I'm honestly confused that you refuse to admit how folk Neil is. He has many almost entirely folk albums. Have you heard Comes A Time?
that’s the best shot you got? one obscure album that’s half country??
i got that mysterious s*** vinyl and int no one referring to it anywhere as folk influential relax
Holy s*** you guys are sensitive
Iirc he responded to me first with hard sarcasm
No you started with discrediting him
"stick to what you know fam"
Are you the master of all things Neil Young? Get of your high horse

It's not obscure and it's just one of many examples of him going full folk. Guess there is a tinge of country but way less so.
Well I don't know how else to respond to dumb s*** like that
Yeah you're def one of "those"
No you started with discrediting him
"stick to what you know fam"
Are you the master of all things Neil Young? Get of your high horse
He sarcasmed me way way before that. How bout stick to your own argument.

this really what was so offensive?
repeating what Ithaka told me himself, "not crazy about folk"
i just feel being crazy about folk should be required if youre gonna try and school people on this artist
Eeehmm I don't see what you're talking about
Also how old are you fr
its not that srs
old enough to have seen the Smile tour and Bowie and James Browns last tours

i just dont get how this isnt folk?? isnt it similar enough to people like Dylan ,Joni , Cohen, Paul Simon James Taylor (goat song btw)
and if you google "folk" with neil young it sure seems like tons of people classify him as that
seems to be the main opinion. and clear influence on later people acknowledged to be folk singer-songwriters like Elliott Smith, Mark Kozelek, even Phoebe Bridgers for modern indie folk type stuff
and lest we forget Buffalo Springfield being widely acknowledged as one of the forerunners of folk rock (not sure if you are including that or just talking about more pure folk though)
