this is a great argument and the third point that is brought here is a key as to why smile never happened - VERY underrated moment in the bbs lore as to where did all go wrong
I CAN PEEP THE ALBUM LOVE YOU IN THE THUMBNAIL
IN !!!
gonna sleep will watch tomorrow ty
@RVI not sure why this punk album has a pet sounds cover but itās cool and maybe will feed your punk curiosity? itās from 1996
!https://youtu.be/fK2zwMH8tEEsame reason this punk album has an Elvis cover, s***s sonically and aesthetically goat
Iām annoyed that they took Good Vibrations Box Set off of Apple Music :( I gotta buy the s*** now
That being said Paul Giamatti is a great actor
Between Love and Mercy and Straight Outta Compton, he was such a convincing villain that I actually hate him
same reason this punk album has an Elvis cover, s***s sonically and aesthetically goat
true
maybe this is why they did that with ass cobra the same concept

oh man i met a lady once who owned it - that blew my mind, she was the furthest from what you would expect of someone who would have that in her collection, old country lady living with 13 cats and all that!
had a pleasure to look into it, def need to buy it - i just wish we get the rumored new boxset covering surfs up era soon itās titled feel flows

Disc 2 of GV Box>>>>>>>>Smile Sessions
Jeff Beck: When you see the cover of the āLittle Deuce Coupeā (album), itās enough to make a 14-year-old go crazy! everything was better over in the States, when you lived where I lived, and it never stopped raining, and all we heard was āCalifornia Girls, it was a massive tug. Whatever you have to do, swim, get a boat, get out there.
When you say Beach Boys the immediate picture that conjure up is "California girls", Brian Wilson, side of it, is Pet Sounds, Smiley Smile, 20/20, all those great albums which contains songs that are not surf songs, and those are the songs that really grabbed ahold of me in the sixties, especially Pet Sounds, it's just.. it's hard to describe what that music did to me, the melody being so strong, the musicality of it, there's not just 12 bar digadigadigadig, that's great stuff! but there's more, they transcend way beyond surf, into almost psychedelic pop songs, it gave me the vision to make wild sounds on the guitar! because if people could have a pop single that changed the key, it was long drone out, wheres two and half minutes was the max in those days, this really opened up the whole game for me.

i love that live they did in promo for it where they played some pet sounds and smile stuff live for first time in a while and last time with the line up with carl- thought it was included in the boxset but maybe im trippin

Give me your love and I'll give you the perfect lovesong with a divine Beatles bass line and a big old Beach Boys sound
@sfsorrow
ok this was great and actually a genuine top you can tell you did listen to all the stuff heās talking about and makes his own take out of it
not sure about wild honey not having hits on the same pair as smiley smile - darlinā is an incredible single and is the song daft punk named themselves after for their first band, title song is great too
100% agree on the friends comment and HOLY S*** the weezer comment
YESSIR TEL EM š£š£š£ rivers DID pick from this material as proven in this spotify playlist he made of what he was listening to in 1993 (while making the blue album) the playlist opens with, indeed, āmeant for youā:
open.spotify.com/playlist/5Kb8TXRFggwTtP53b0oLLO?nd=1
surfs up album - should give more props to the new original carl songs (feel flows and long promised road) instead of continuously hyping the smile material, we know about it and he already mentioned it on the smiley smile and the 20/20 albums, i know smile is great but weāre really overshadowing stellar songs and groundbreaking productions
also today at number three
ig i was wrong @RVI @Elric
and sunflower number two
this man knows
great honorable mentions i was worried he was gonna left so tough holland and all summer long without even mentioning them, very surprising he puts thatās why god made the radio in there too, i would put LA album instead
his love you comment is fair, and itās great the album is up there alone, he puts it nicely when he says itās the last album of the original gang really coming together and enjoying it
tysm for this video

that guys channel is pretty cool. iirc hes some kind of (former?) b/c list actor or something lol, saw his name and looked him up once. you can tell he puts a lot of effort into his videos, he did the same even when he was smaller with like <10k subs iirc
