    any MGMT fans in here? @deepsleep @SoHelpMeDog @Noir @MrIndigo96 @Teal_ @Fantasy @Ground @stillness @Cookies

andrew cover of “a day in the life of a tree”:

andrew even put that song at number two in his personal top 10:

    2. "A Day in the Life of a Tree" The Beach Boys, 1971

AVW: It came out of a period when they were doing a lot of d****. I got to meet Al Jardine, and he told me that no one would sing it because it was too depressing, so the manager guy, Jack Rieley, sang it.

the other boys talks about the album surf’s up:

I always find Cassius Love vs Sonny Wilson big cringe, but then out of nowhere Al saves it for me everytime when he casually says "alright girls" like DAMN JARDINE WHERE'D YOU GET THAT SASS FROM

according to the bands engineer before settling with jack rieley’s take, dennis wilson had a go on the lead vocals for this song

remains unheard and that’s a crime, we need this! rip to jack, and the song is great either way but dennis voice is a treasure

“Sail on, Sailor” (demo) – This 1971 demo of the Beach Boys' 1973 hit single was last heard five years ago by several Beach Boys historians. It was then in the possession of a venerated Beatles collector, who has since disappeared with the tape.

mf beatles stans can’t have anything nice

(this was written in 2014 and it still remains to be bootlegged or released or heard at all to this day)

he also wrote some great lyrics such “you need a mess of help to stand alone”

amazing bbs banger, love this song, great brian upbeat tune to open the album, wish we had more of these, the “she don’t know me” harmony breakdown with the synth and s***

i feel like lot of hipsters today would vibe with this song if they were presented to the bbs thru this, it aged godly
