he originally wanted to turn brian in some 80s adult contemporary act... he had no idea brian is an avant gardiste creator..

and all the way to today, even tho there’s been beautiful music from brian since because thank GOD they let him do him sometimes or by miraculous involve other good people, joe thomas has produced it all, even the beach boys reunion album... it’s depressing me

sure she got landy out and im sure she’s a sweetheart to him, but having her as a manager is a legacy murder in the act, she herself only knew of barbara ann when they met

so i mean some of his camp are genuine people and some STELLAR musicians, don’t get me wrong his live band is godlike, and it happens that sometime they do get a hand in decisions and make things work out

it’s not all black and white after all melinda was the one who made brian do smile, so we owe her that, it’s not like brian sits all day wanting to redo and finish that decades old album you know? he’s always been wanting to do new things: that’s why today was and is great, same for pet sounds, smile, love you, etc

ah well, lot of stuff to unpack you know, the “heroes & villains” he once wrote about aren’t that easy to spot, but idk her lead ... could be better

like it’s a movie s*** is romantized but like they give a lot of credit to her role in the biopic, melinda has done and gone through SO MUCH and probably still loves brian.. great movie tho, big fan

but like for example i hate how he was working on a new album some years ago and you knew it was a total brian original s*** because he said he called it “sensitive music for sensitive people”, it doesn’t get more brian than that

ay I listened to the Teal album today, didnt expect them to make an album full of covers, they were all well done, a few sounded off cuz the subject matter like No Scrubs, and the production felt really low quality one a few songs like Africa, I do like Weezer version of Take on me more than the og, and I love that song. I dont really know how to rate it since its all covers. I also thought it was Rivers singing on Paranoid, I was wondering how this man sounds like Ozzy until I checked after.
